Shipping Policy

All orders are processed within 2 to 3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). You will receive an order confirmation email. For pre-orders, the “available on” date for the product would be considered to be the starting date for shipment processing. You will receive a notification when your order has shipped.

Calculated/special shipping costs: Shipping costs for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. These costs are based on the location for delivery, the region that the product ships from, and the weight of the package.

SGSingapore shipping options

Local pickup: You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at Pasir Ris, SG 519283. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 1 to 2 business days (based on indicated availability date). I will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions for pickup and a list of possible timings, based on your convenience. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.

Free shipping*: Free shipping is available to all Singapore delivery addresses, if the quantity of items in your cart exceeds one. In some cases, I might personally deliver your product! I will contact you via text message with the phone number you provided at checkout / email you in case one has not been provided, to notify you on the day of arrival.

Flat rate shipping: I offer US$3 flat rate shipping to Singapore delivery addresses only.

* Hint for SG: All orders of multiple products, or multiple numbers of a single product can enjoy island-wide FREE delivery. Please choose flat rate shipping though, if you want to ensure that you do not meet me!

INIndia shipping options

Local Courier (Delhivery): I offer shipping via local courier to all serviceable postal codes within India. The preferred courier partner is “Delhivery”, although another reliable shipping partner may be chosen in certain cases. The shipping cost for your order will be calculated and displayed during checkout.

Hint for IN: India enjoys the most economical shipping rates. There are no major optimizations or quantity benefits for India deliveries, and the cost of shipping scales more-or-less linearly (from 2 items onwards).

USUSA shipping options

USPS: I offer a specially orchestrated shipping rate for delivery within continental US. The slightly longer transit times for this low-cost option are because of the two-step logistics chain that involves delivery to a US-based intermediary who then ships out your order via USPS. While time-consuming, this helps me achieve a more economical shipping rate that I can offer.

FedEx: Expedited delivery via FedEx is also available for continental US. Please note that the shipping costs are dependent on weight, with optimal rates per kg being reached from 7kg onwards (Hints* below the table).

* Hint for US: SingPost/USPS is the most economical option. For FedEx, 7kg+ (6 books or more, for a book with a shipping weight of 1.25kg) will help you achieve the ideal cost of expedited shipping per book.

GlobalInternational Shipping

I offer international shipping to almost all countries serviceable by Singapore Post / FedEx. Because of geo-political considerations or carrier limitations, however, shipping may not be available to certain countries. Shipping costs and transit time estimates for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout only if shipping is currently being offered. In case of any sudden changes in carrier policies, or disruption in service, I will contact you and refund your order in full.

At this time, deliveries are excluded from the following list of (major) countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela

* Hint for Rest of the World: Singapore Post is the most economical global shipping option for orders totalling less than 2kg (for example, one book). Speedpost (Economy or Priority) becomes a good option for certain shipping weights like 5kg (4 books), 10kg (8 books), 20kg (16 books), and may not make sense otherwise. Even so, for FedEx, 7kg+ (6 books or more) will help you achieve the ideal cost of expedited shipping per book, and it is often more economical, and always faster, than Speedpost.

Taxes/customs: For orders with delivery addresses outside India/Singapore, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches the destination country. At nishantvats.com, I am not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer. The same applies to any restrictions regarding the nature of the product you purchase, and if any such restrictions apply in your country, please reach out to me at nishant.vats@gmail.com, before you place your order.

P.O. BoxesShipping Unavailable to P.O. Boxes

Due to carrier limitations, shipping to P.O. boxes is not available on nishantvats.com. While the checkout process does not restrict you from placing such an order, such orders will be cancelled and refunded (with deduction of payment gateway charges, approx 5%). Before processing such a cancellation, I will reach out to you so you may provide me with an alternative delivery address in the same country as your original order.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from me — which will include a tracking number that you can use to check its status. Only registered, trackable modes of delivery will be used (including Singapore Post packages, which will ship via Registered Airmail). Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.

If you have NOT received your order within 3 working days of the upper limit of the transit window, please contact me at nishant.vats@gmail.com with your name and order number, and I will look into it for you.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges

Please read the detailed Refund & Returns Policy. For shipping related issues with your delivered product — in the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email me as soon as possible, but no later than 7 days from receipt of the damaged item, at nishant.vats@gmail.com with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. I will address these on a case-by-case basis but will try my best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
