Business is Slow

Mumbai, 2006. You”ll see lots of these orangeade and lemonade sellers at various locations in Mumbai, especially near railway stations. At Rs. 2 a glass, they provide inexpensive and ready relief for the thousands of weary commuters that fill the busy railway stations here. On a normal (sultry) day in Mumbai, he would probably have to refill these large vessels with his refreshing goods again and again, but on this particularly cloudy day, business hasn”t been that good, it seems. While the scene at the station was as crowded as ever, my 45 minute perch yielded just one customer, and this lonely shot with vessels virtually full was the most representative of what the day has probably been like for him.
